Unused Resources × Marine Restoration

Upcycle unused resources to restore the ocean’s nurseries.

We will upcycle materials that would otherwise be discarded on land into marine restoration materials, then connect seaweed-bed recovery to locally rooted business models.

CONTEXT

Make seaweed beds a platform for local co-creation

Changes in nutrient levels and rising seawater temperatures are driving barren grounds and coastal degradation. We will address the decline of seaweed beds and coastal ecosystems, which serve as nurseries and blue-carbon stores.
